They’re Berlin’s favourite home invaders. As co-founders of the online interview magazine FreundevonFreunden, Tim Seifert, Torsten Bergler, and Frederik Frede have been granting access to the minds, homes, aesthetic worlds of creative folk from Berlin and beyond. If you could change one thing about Berlin, what would it be?

What is a current trend you’d like to have banned?
TS: Self-portraits and Ugg boots
TB: Bro-Dubstep
FF: Trust in money
What is the least-known place in Berlin you love the most?
TS: The whole area around Grunewald and Teufelsberg
TB: Schwielowsee (a little outside of Berlin) or the waterside area at the back of the Bundeskanzleramt
FF: Garnisonsfriedhof in Mitte and Wilmersdorf
If Berlin were a character—fictional or otherwise—who would it be?
TS: I have no idea.
TB: Burial (musician)
FF: Woody Allen
Would you rather: Have to interview people about nothing else besides their opinions about state taxes, or conduct interviews naked for a year?
TS: Naked interviews sounds like a challenge.
TB: Neither
What is your latest online discovery?
TS: Most of the work we‘re doing at FvF happens in digital media and we check out new concepts and magazine ideas on a daily basis. Magazines/Blogs I would recommend at the moment: 01 Magazine, Kinfolk, The Scout, The Hansen Family.

What piece of technology do you wish hadn’t been invented?
TS: I personally think the Ipad is overrated.
TB: Internet Explorer

What would you choose as your last meal?
TS: Philly Cheese Steak with coleslaw and french fries
TB: My favourite dish
FF: I'd rather die hungry than care about this now.
How often do you talk to Mum, and what was your last conversation about?
TS: We talk twice a week and have a very close relationship. She‘s still my main guidance. The conversations could be about anything from work-related stuff to her next travels to Beijing.
TB: Too rare. Probably about Christmas time.
What would you say to your 12-year-old Self?
TS: More books, less TV, and less fast food
TB: All the things i learned so far
FF: Shred harder
What is your fantasy career?
TS: Food scout or actor.
TB: Having the career I have at the moment, with a little more financial backing and more travelling
FF: I am having my fantasy career
You know you’ve “made it” in your line of work when ____ . (fill in the blank)
TS: We don‘t have the feeling that we've really "made it" at this point in time, but our first book for FvF Berlin and the launch of the international portraits are good steps in the right direction.
TB: Your parents are proud
FF: You inspire other people with it. And your parents are proud
What’s the one vanity you allow yourself?
TS: Going for lunch in restaurants day in and day out
TB: Being free
FF: No fridge, no car, and being my own boss

TS: Die ganze Gegend um den Grunewald und den Teufelsberg.
TB: Schwielowsee (bisschen außerhalb) und das Spreeufer auf der Rückseite des Bundeskanzleramts.
FF: Garnisonsfriedhof (Mitte) und Wilmersdorf
Wenn Berlin eine Person wäre – fiktiv oder nicht –, wer wäre die Stadt dann?
TS: Keine Ahnung

Würdet ihr eher: Leute ausschließlich über ihre Meinung zum Steuerrecht interviewen oder ein Jahr lang Nacktinterviews durchführen?
TS: Nacktinterviews klingt nach einer echten Herausforderung.
TB: Weder noch.
Was ist eure aktuellste Online-Entdeckung?

TS: Ich persönlich finde, dass das Ipad überbewertet ist.

TS: Philly Cheese Steak, Krautsalat und Pommes.

FF: Ich sterbe lieber hungrig, als mir jetzt darüber den Kopf zu zerbrechen.
Wie oft sprecht ihr mit euren Müttern und worum ging's das letzte Mal?
TS: Wir sprechen zweimal die Woche miteinander und haben eine sehr enge Beziehung. Sie ist noch immer mein Leitstern. Wir reden über so ziemlich alles, von Jobangelegenheiten bis hin zu ihrer anstehenden Reise nach Peking.
TB: Zu selten. Wahrscheinlich über Weihnachten.
Was würdet ihr eurem 12-jährigen Selbst mit auf den Weg geben?
TS: Lies mehr Bücher, guck weniger Fernsehen und iss weniger Fast Food!
TB: Alles, was ich bisher so gelernt habe.

Was ist euer heimlicher Traumberuf?
TS: Food-Scout oder Schauspieler
TB: Mein aktueller Beruf, würde ich sagen, gepaart mit ein bisschen mehr finanzieller Sicherheit und mehr Reisen.
FF: Ich hab meinen Traumberuf gefunden.
Karrieremäßig hat man's geschafft, wenn ...
TS: Ich würde nicht sagen, dass wir es an diesem Punkt "geschafft" haben. Aber unser erstes Buch und der Launch der internationalen Portraits sind wichtige Schritte in die richtige Richtung.
TB: Wenn die Eltern stolz sind.
FF: Wenn du andere Leute inspirierst. Und deine Eltern stolz sind.
Welchen Luxus erlaubt ihr euch?
TS: Tagaus, tagein in Restaurants zu Mittag zu essen.
TB: Frei sein.
FF: Keinen Kühlschrank und kein Auto zu besitzen und mein eigener Chef zu sein.
